Model Grants

Model Grants are those which have already been successfully implemented in classrooms and can be duplicated to benefit other students throughout the parish. A simple application process prevents the educator from having to "reinvent the wheel," and fosters the sharing of best practices. The first Model Grant, "Matching Struggling Readers with Books that Fit" was implemented in 2007, and is designed to help increase the percentage of students reading on or above grade level by third grade.

Funding is based on availability. To find out first-hand about available model grant funding, sign up for the "Important LEF Updates" on the home page of our website. Be sure to use an alternate email other than LPSS, as we sometimes experience blocks in email transfer.
