    Nominate a Teacher

Have you or someone you know been positively impacted by the actions of a dedicated teacher? If so, LEF wants to know! Lafayette Education Foundation is currently accepting nominations for the Seventeenth Annual Teacher Awards. This is the perfect time to say Thank You to that special teacher who has made a difference in your life or the life of someone you know.

Nominations are now open for the 2015 Teacher Awards!
Click here to open and download a fillable Nomination Form!

Nomination forms and letters can be mailed to P.O. Box 53649, Lafayette LA 70505. Hand deliveries are accepted ONLY after October 20th at 128 Demanade, Suite 105, Lafayette, LA 70503. Please be advised that LEF is in the process of moving office locations and will not be at this address until October 20th.

    Who is eligible?

Any active PreK-4 thru 12th grade educator in a Lafayette Parish public, private or parochial school. The educator does not have to be the teacher a student has this school year - it can be a teacher who impacted the student's life years ago. As long as they are currently teaching in Lafayette Parish, they are eligible for nomination.

Click here to view the new LEF Teacher Awards PreK-4 Eligibility Policy.

    Who can nominate a teacher?

Students, parents, fellow educators, members of the community.

What should you look for when nominating a teacher?

Look for educators who have in some way impacted the life of a student or family,  those who go beyond the job description to show that they care.

How are the Sixteen Finalists Selected?

Each nomination letter is read by the Teacher Awards Selection Committee, a group of volunteers including but not limited to LEF Board Members, sponsors, and community volunteers.  The letters which convey the greatest impact determine the sixteen finalists.
