    Lafayette Education Foundation Endowed Fund

Lafayetted Education Foundation was created in 1989, in large part, through a vision to capitalize on state funds in a dollar to dollar  matching program.  While that state funding is now gone, our original mission remains steadfast: to provide grants to teachers for innovative learning projects, directly to the classroom.

LEF is grateful to our endowment contributors:

    $100,000 Named Endowments

    Acadian Ambulance Service
    JP Morgan Chase Bank
Lod Cook (in honor of his mother, Ettrice H. Cook)
    Cox Communications
    Lafayette General Medical Center
    Ocean Energy
    Safety Management Systems

LEF currently maintains an endowed fund of $1.4 million.  We've wisely invested our funds, as interest generated from these funds goes directly to classrooms:

    • Over $2 million in grant funding directly to the classrooms for 877 innovative projects
    • $120,000 in model grant funding to further the impact of exemplary grant projects

Today our mission has expanded to include recognition for teachers of excellence, as well as many other educational programs directed toward literacy and social-emotional learning.  Because as community leaders, like our endowment supporters, we fully understand the importance and the impact of quality education on our economy and our parish's future.

Your investment in LEF can mean the continuation and growth of these valuable projects.  Your One contribution can provide new hope and promise for the future of our community.

One school, One teacher, and One student at a time.
