Nominate a Teacher
Nominations for the 2017 Teacher Awards are now open!
Who is eligible?
Any active PreK-4 thru 12th grade educator in a Lafayette Parish public, charter, private or parochial school. The educator does not have to be the teacher a student has this school year - it can be a teacher who impacted the student's life years ago. As long as they are currently teaching in Lafayette Parish, they are eligible for nomination.
Who can nominate a teacher?
Students, parents, fellow educators, members of the community.
What should you look for when nominating a teacher?
Look for educators who have in some way impacted the life of a student or family, those who go beyond the job description to show that they care.
How are the Sixteen Finalists Selected?
Each nomination letter is read by the Teacher Awards Selection Committee, a group of volunteers including but not limited to LEF Board Members, sponsors, and community volunteers. The letters which convey the greatest impact determine the sixteen finalists.
"There are many challenges in the day to day classroom environment and this award just makes you feel like someone is appreciating all the efforts being made. The genuine feeling of support felt like a “warm blanket” from other comrades that would have never been able to be felt if it were not for the LEF and its awards ceremony.”
